Just saw the first two episodes tonight and it looks good.
But read somewhere its up for an International Emmy, and if it wins TBS will probably be charging a fortune.
Still, hopefully KIKU will get it.

Did it end the same way as the movie?

It took me two (2) viewings of the movie to understand just what the heck happened.

more or less, it's just that the drama (as a whole) went into more depth of what happened to Saku in the future. the drama actually took place 16 years after the movie.

just checked out the HIFF site and it looks like the movies for the Fall Festival are out. Fuka Kyon's movie "Kamikaze Girls" is one of them. As well as Odagiri Joe's "Princess Raccoon".

thanks for the head's up. i actually checked it out on tuesday ... the website. unfortunately, there aren't any films from Japan that really "jump out" at you on that list. not like this past spring's HIFF with Sekachu the movie. still yet, i'll probably be checking out 3-4 films. gotta figure, the more support you show, the more likely they'll bring "blockbuster" movies in future festivals. and just to let y'all know ... the HIFF will be from October 20-30.

If you get a chance to see "Densha-otoko", see the movie before the television drama...there are some things in both the movie and drama that kind of link them together.

Interesting. I saw the "Sekachu" movie and kinda do NOT want to see the TV version cause I'm concerned it will take something away from the movie experience.

How was the "Ima Ai" drama? By all reports, the TV version of "Densha Otoko" may have eclipsed its cinematic sibling.

I still have to watch the movie version of "sekachu" (I should have watched it the other night when they showed it on tv(uncut version), but the Tigers won the Central League, so I had the "sekachu" side of my screen on mute and was watching the game.) Like I said before, I couldn't understand the "Ima Ai" drama (and wondered if the movie had any clues as to what I wasn't understanding in the drama). But I liked both "Densha Otoko" versions. "Sekachu" & "Densha Otoko" also have a theatrical version (live on stage) too...
